The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining next-generation network infrastructure within a data centre environment. The role focuses on ensuring network performance, security, and scalability for critical business operations. Key duties include network design, monitoring and optimization, security management, project leadership, capacity planning, mentorship of junior engineers, vendor collaboration, and maintaining documentation and compliance. The engineer will work with advanced technologies such as Cisco ACI, VxLAN, and automation tools to support large-scale enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection
• Lead end-to-end network projects, managing timelines and resources
• Analyze capacity trends and scale infrastructure to meet future requirements
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to align hardware and software solutions with business goals
• Maintain accurate network documentation and ensure regulatory and audit compliance

Qualifications

• 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in network engineering, including 2 years in a specialist capacity
• Proven expertise in Cisco ACI design, configuration, and troubleshooting (multi-pod fabric, APIC management, firmware upgrades)
• Strong experience with C#, SQL, and automation tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and deploy VxLAN networks
• Experience supporting large-scale data centres and complex enterprise networking environments
